The Historical American Girl Legacy Challenge

Basic Rules:

1. Each heir must represent the personality and persona of her American Girl counterpart. This is NOT a decades style challenge so you do NOT need historical clothing or objects (unless you want to!).

2. Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward.

3. You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation.

4. Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.

5. Keep the lifespan on the “normal” setting.

Generation One: Kaya

Kaya (Kaya'aton'my) (She Who Arranges Rocks)

You are a strong Sim, emotionally and mentally, who deeply loves their family, friends, and animals. You love to swim and you love to tell stories to anyone that will listen. However, you will often act before thinking and this can lead to awkward conversations with other Sims!

  • Traits: Loves Outdoors, Outgoing, Active

  • Aspiration: Nature Nomad

  • Career: Naturopath -- Lifestyle Coaching Branch

 

Rules: 

  • Max the Natural Living skill

  • Max the Fitness skill

  • Can only gain Fitness skill from swimming

  • Go camping in Granite Falls once a week and only use tents

  • Always own at least two horses and a dog

  • Gain the Outdoorsy lifestyle

  • Complete the Frogs Collection

  • Historical Year: 1774

  • Traits: Horse Lover, Loyal, and Adventurous

  • Aspiration: Championship Rider

  • Career: Conservationist – Environmental Manager Branch

 

Rules:

  • Max the Guitar skill

  • Max the Horse Riding skill

  • Achieve the Close-knit Lifestyle

  • Must have 4 daughters and no sons

  • Have a horse as a teen/young adult that is your closest friend

Generation Two: Felicity

Felicity Merriman

You are known for your curiosity, boldness, and your strong sense of justice. You're very close with your horse and have a very small group of friends. You have a desire for change and a commitment to stand up for what you believe is right!

Generation Three: Josefina

Known for your gentle nature and love for your family, you face challenges such as the loss of your mother. You are deeply connected to your heritage and traditions of your people, but you also adapt to the evolving world around you. You learn early on in your life about responsibility, resilience, and compassion.

  • Career: Self-Employed

 

Rules:

  • Max the Cross Stitch skill

  • Max the Selvadoradian Culture skill 

  • Max the Archaeology skill

  • Spend every weekend in Selvadorada beginning when you’re a Teen

  • With your Self-Employed career, you earn money from your jungle exploits and from authenticating artifacts

  • Complete the Fossils collection

  • Historical Year: 1854

  • Traits: Foodie, Child of the Village, Cat Lover

  • Aspiration(s): Lady of the Knits; Appliance Wiz

  • Career: Critic – Food Critic Branch

 

Rules:

  • Your family moves to Tomarang when you’re a Child

  • Always own at least 2 cats

  • Complete two aspirations (can be completed in any order!)

  • Max the Knitting skill

  • Max the Baking skill

  • Complete the Tassels collection

  • Note: Your Gen Four heir is supposed to raise their grandchild, the Gen Six heir.

Generation Four: Kirsten

Kirsten Larson

As a child, your family emigrated to a new world where you have to adjust to a new culture and language but you want to stay connected to your family’s heritage. You are known for your resilience, kindness, and deep connection to your heritage.

Generation Five: Addy

Addy Walker

You have a very close relationship with your mother and other Sims know you by your resilience, hope, and determination. Education is a large part of your life and you share in the struggles and triumphs of others.

  • Aspiration: Academic

  • Career: Education – Administrator Branch

 

Rules:

  • Max the Research & Debate skill

  • Max the Charisma skill

  • Your best friend is your mother 

  • Attend university for your Economics degree

  • Tutor students weekly while in university

  • Obtain the ‘Mentor’ reward trait with satisfaction points

  • Historical Year: 1904

  • Traits: Proper, Good, Self-Assured

  • Aspiration: Eco Innovator

  • Career: Civil Designer – Civic Planner Branch

 

Rules:

  • Your parents “pass away” when you are between the ages of Infant - Toddler and so you are raised by your grandmother

    • If you do not want to un-alive your Generation Five Sims, have them live separately from your Generation Six heir

  • Max the Charisma skill

  • Max the Painting skill 

  • Your best friend must be a Sim with significantly less money than you

  • Successfully repeal a NAP plan at least once

  • Complete the Postcards Collection

Generation Six: Samantha

Samantha Parkington

An orphan since childhood, you are raised by your wealthy grandmother who insists you learn proper etiquette norms. But in spite of this, you are strong-willed and compassionate. You fight for social changes for Sims who are not as fortunate as you are and your best friend is from a different social class.

Generation Seven: Kit

Kit Kittredge

You are a resourceful and determined Sim and since childhood, you have aspired to be a journalist. You love writing and dream of reporting the real news. During your adolescent years, your family faces financial troubles and convert your home into a boarding house. Despite these hardships, you remain optimistic, clever, and independent.

  • Traits: Ambitious, Creative, Nosy

  • Aspiration: City Native

  • Career: Writer – Journalist Branch

 

Rules:

  • Max the Writing skill

  • Max the Charisma skill

  • Max the Singing skill

  • As a child, deduct half or one-third of your household's income to simulate the financial difficulties of the Great Depression

  • As a child, your family converts the family home into a boarding house so there must be apartment units or roommates

  • Gain the Coffee Fanatic lifestyle

  • Historical Year: 1941

  • Traits: Ambitious, Hot-headed, Child of the Islands

  • Aspiration: Successful Lineage

  • Career(s): Lifeguard; Education – Professor Branch

 

Rules:

  • Must live in Sulani your whole life

  • Your home lot must have the ‘Oceanic Paradise’ lot trait

  • You are best friends with one of your neighbors

  • Max the Dancing skill 

  • Marry a Sim in the Doctor career

  • Work in the Lifeguard career before you begin your Education career

  • Complete the Seashells collection

Generation Eight: Nanea

Nanea Mitchell

Other Sims appreciate your ideals and compassion. You’re also brave and emotionally strong in the face of hardship. You see your father as a role model and have a close relationship with him. An avid reader, you can usually be found at the local library. 

Generation Nine: Molly

With your father being a busy and distant doctor, you must learn to navigate challenges with the remainder of your family. Other Sims recognize your resilience, appreciate your friendship, and admire your perseverance.

  • Max the Dancing skill

  • Your lifelong best friend must live in a different world than you do

  • As a child, spend your whole summer at Camp Gibbi Gibbi

  • Create your own Club to lead when you are a Teen and keep this club through your Young Adult years

  • Complete the Gibbi Point Butterflies & Moths collection

  • Historical Year: 1974

  • Traits: Gloomy, Maker, Overachiever

  • Aspiration: Bodybuilder

  • Career(s): Interior Decorator; Athlete – Professional Athlete Branch

 

Rules:

  • Max the Fitness skill 

  • Max the Charisma skill 

  • Max the Fabrication skill 

  • Can only gain Fitness skill from playing basketball

  • After your parents’ divorce when you’re a Teen, your mother moves you both to an apartment

  • Before joining the Athlete career, you work as an Interior Decorator (promoted up to level 5 before switching careers)

Generation Ten: Julie
